Podiatrist West Hoxton
In our diabetic foot assessment we carry out the following:
- A full neurovascular assessment of the feet (assessing blood flow using a doppler)
- A test on the nerve sensation in the feet using a 10gram monofilament and 128Hz vibrating tuning fork
- An observational assessment of the skin and nails looking for potential pressure areas, wounds and maceration
- A risk status report based on the findings
- Referrals to GP and other health professionals
Aside from this assessment and screening, we also assess and help treat the following conditions:
- Ingrown toenail
- Fungal nail infection
- Bunions
- Heel and arch pain
- Plantar warts
Our goal is to prevent problems from getting worse and help patients gain peace of mind and improve their everyday quality of life (e.g. better mobility, no more pain when walking).
