Podiatrist Sadleir

Many of our patients have come to us because of the following:

  • Diabetic feet
  • Ingrown toenail
  • Heel and arch pain
  • Plantar warts
  • Bunions
  • Morton’s neuroma (often described as a feeling like you have a pebble in your shoe or a fold in your socks)
  • Various nail conditions (fungal nail infection, nail psoriasis, subungual haematoma)

Aside from those visible problems, patients have also come to us because they’re experiencing:

  • First few steps in the morning are painful
  • Feet and legs ache within a few hours of working
  • Pain inside the foot and arch area
  • Foot pain has become worse

They feel that there might be something wrong which is why they have come to us. Even with those easy-to-ignore symptoms, they were quick to act and know what’s wrong. As a result, they have prevented problems from getting worse, or thankfully, after a detailed assessment, they now know that everything’s all right and there’s nothing to worry about.

Diabetic foot assessment Sadleir

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, there are over 1.3 million Australians living with diabetes (estimated 1 in 20 of Australians). In line with that, there has been an increasing concern about diabetic feet.

Here we can perform a detailed diabetic foot screening where our specialists will carry out the following:

  • A full neurovascular assessment of the feet (assessing blood flow using a doppler)
  • A test on the nerve sensation in the feet using a 10gram monofilament and 128Hz vibrating tuning fork
  • An observational assessment of the skin and nails looking for potential pressure areas, wounds and maceration
  • A risk status report based on the findings
  • Referrals to GP and other health professionals

Our specialists will also take the time in knowing your health and lifestyle history so that we can have more information about what’s actually causing a certain symptom or condition.
