When to see a podiatrist

If you notice something unusual on your feet or toenails, our specialists can take a look at it and determine the problem. You can also come to us if you’re experiencing any of the following:

  • Your first few steps in the morning are painful
  • Feet and legs ache within a few hours of working
  • You feel pain inside the foot and arch area
  • Foot pain has become worse over the past days, weeks or months

Diabetic foot assessment Middleton Grange

If you’re diabetic and you have concerns about your feet, you can also come to us and our specialists will do the following:

  • A full neurovascular assessment of the feet (assessing blood flow using a doppler)
  • A test on the nerve sensation in the feet using a 10gram monofilament and 128Hz vibrating tuning fork
  • An observational assessment of the skin and nails looking for potential pressure areas, wounds and maceration
  • A risk status report based on the findings
  • Referrals to GP and other health professionals

After the detailed assessment, we can provide you with personalised advice and management plan to minimise the diabetic feet’s effect on your work, mobility and overall quality of life.
